Cervical Cancer Eradication Is Possible Only If…

by | Jan 21, 2021

It’s #CervicalCancer Awareness Month! Cervical #cancer could be the first cancer EVER in the world to be eliminated, if 90% of girls are vaccinated 70% of women are screened 90% of women with cervical disease receive treatment. #CervicalCancerAwarenessMonth.

Yes! The World Health Organization has declared their intention to have cervical cancer eradicated by year 2030. It is possible, we believe. Since it can be detected and cured early through screening and can also be prevented by vaccination with HPV vaccine, this goal is achievable.

However, like most diseases that have been eradicated in the past, Africa is usually the last flashpoint of disease activity. A recent memory was that of polio virus, whose last point of transmission was Nigeria.

For cervical cancer eradication to be achieved by 2030, the WHO projected that at least 90% of girls should be vaccinated against Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), 70% of women must be screened for cervical cancer, and at least 90% of women with early cervical disease should receive treatment.

The Blue-Pink Center for Women’s Health has joined the fight against cervical cancer and has made the commitment to contribute significantly to early eradication of cervical cancer in Nigeria by offering comprehensive cancer prevention education, cervical cancer screening, and cryotherapy services for women. This is a proven strategy to nip in the bud the rising deaths from the disease. Of course, HPV vaccination is also being worked upon by our team for widespread accessibility.

What we need from you?

The rest of this efforts lie with our women and girls in Nigeria. It is not enough to have all the services available at a ridiculously cheap rate, yet women would not patronize and benefit from the services.

What we need from you is simply to walk in and take advantage of the world-class services that we offer for your own benefit. Not only that, ensure that you help your families and friends to also benefit from it by inviting them and guiding them through the process at our center. In the long run, the only one who wins is YOU!

The decision to access these services is the “only if…”  needed to eradicate cervical cancer in Nigeria.
